Saw Palmetto is a shrubby palm that is found in sandy soils which grows about 6-10 feet high. Its fruit is of the size of an olive and is picked when it is fully ripened. Saw Palmetto Side Effects  

Although Saw Palmetto does not cause serious side effects, some people may develop allergies. Trouble in breathing, inflammation of the lips and tongue, inconvenience in throat and swelling in the face are some of the allergic reactions. Few other side effects may include:  

  • Gastrointestinal inconvenience
  • Risk of internal bleeding
  • Reduced production of sex hormones
  • Severe cramps in legs
  • Recurrent headache
  • Diarrhea.
